DISCOVERY MUSEUM NEWS RELEASE – On January 12, more than 20 “Styrobots” wrapped up their display in the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum’s (The Discovery) lobby. These “robots,” some of them more than 15 feet tall, were the result of a design challenge issued to the museum’s visitors. The challenge was simple; build a robot out of nothing more than Styrofoam packing material. The results were a sight to be seen.
“The response to our first Styrobot Challenge was great,” said Mat Sinclair, executive director. “The level of creative designs constructed by the kids, adults and teams was impressive.”
The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum is a hands-on museum dedicated to inspiring lifelong learning in science, technology, engineering, art, math, and the world around us.
