Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District to break ground on Mogul station

washoe-150x150-9216392-3933211The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the new fire station in Mogul at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.

Station #35 at 10201 W. Fourth St. is scheduled to begin operations in May 2014 and will house one engine, one water tender and one brush truck with a staff of three to four firefighters.

“This new station replaces a 40-year-old modular building,” said TMFPD Chief Charles Moore. “The new location will provide response times that meet the District’s standards to the Caughlin Ranch and Verdi communities.”

WHO: Washoe County Vice Chair Bonnie Weber, District 5, and Washoe County Commissioner Kitty Jung, District 3, are scheduled to attend, along with other community leaders
