Homecoming: Events include a Big Sean concert and WolfTrot

93rd annual Nevada Homecoming begins next week, celebrates campus traditions and history

Nevada’s homecoming starts Oct. 21 and goes through Oct. 26. Events, hosted by the Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN), include a Big Sean concert and parade. The Reno Arch is going blue Monday in honor of Homecoming week.

Featured events are below:

• Nevadaville – Throughout the week on the Quad
The Quad will be transformed into a western town. Western-themed structures will be judged Monday, Oct. 21, from noon – 5 p.m.

• Pack Gives Back – 7 p.m., Oct. 22, Milt Glick Ballroom, the Joe Crowley Student Union
The community is invited to watch the University’s top students compete for the title of Nevada’s King and Queen. Along with the competition, a charity raffle will be held at the end of the event.

•big_sean-231x300-2402353-3850429 Big Sean Concert – 7 p.m. doors open, 8 p.m. show starts, Oct. 23 at the Reno Events Center

• March from the Arch – 7 p.m., Oct. 25, Reno Arch in Downtown Reno to the Quad
The lighted parade will feature University homecoming floats, the Wolf Pack Marching Band and various alumni and businesses from the community.

• Wolf Trot – 8 a.m., Oct. 26, Joe Crowley Student Union
The annual 5K Wolf Trot has been a homecoming tradition for more than 75 years and will have participants running all over campus. Each registration includes a T-shirt.

• Nevada vs. UNLV – 3:05 p.m., Oct. 26, Mackay Stadium
The Nevada Wolf Pack takes on the Rebels from UNLV. Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned and are nominated for their involvement on campus, volunteer activities and academic performance.
