ASUM NEWS – The Associated Students of the University of Nevada, Reno (ASUN) will host the second annual conference, First-Year Students: Learn How You Can Make a Difference at Nevada. The conference is from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 14, in the Davidson Mathematics and Science Center Building in the Redfield Auditorium.
The event is free and open to University students and community members. Early registration is requested, and free lunch will be provided.

The conference will include a keynote address from former vice president of the Walt Disney Company Dave Goodman. Goodman will speak on his theory of Spiral Thinking. According to Goodman’s website, Spiral Thinking allows people to articulate their dream and aspirations which will help them render their ideas and imagination into living realities.

In addition to the keynote presentation, participants will receive a Spiral Thinking workbook. The workbook describes the passion and talents test which helps put Spiral Thinking into practice. Attendees will create a dream map with their workbooks and will share them in a gallery that will allow them to explore and comment on the dreams of others.

Other conference events include a second keynote address by Ed Goodman, the principal innovator and guide for Starizon studio, the world’s leading experience transformation consultancy. Goodman will also be speaking on the Spiral Thinking model.
