12th annual “Mayor’s Cup Charity Golf Tournament” takes place October 5 – benefits Mayor’s Youth Fund

FallonCITY OF FALLON NEWS RELEASE – City of Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford again invites citizens to join him for the Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament, October 5 at the Fallon Golf Course. The 12th annual charity event is now accepting foursomes and sponsorships for the tournament, which tees off at 8:00 a.m.

Each year since 2002, the Mayor’s Cup contributes funds raised at the golf tournament to the Mayor’s Youth Fund, benefitting Fallon’s youth. Last year, more $5,000 was raised to help children in the community.

Registration is now open to all area citizens and businesses that wish to participate in a foursome or via sponsorship. Cost is $500 per group or $175 per hole sponsorship.

Raffle and cash prizes are awarded for first, second and third place teams, and cash prizes go to the golfer who wins the “Nearest To The Pin” and “Longest Drive” competitions. Last year’s champions include Churchill County administrative offices in first place, Tim Mitchell for “Nearest to the Pin,” and Lem Mackedon and Angela Rowan with the “Longest Drive.”
