RPD investigating pedestrian death on West 4th Street

At about 4:16 a.m. today, officers from the Reno Police Department responded to the 5000 block of West 4th Street on a report of a vehicle collision. When they arrived on scene they located a victim lying in the middle of the roadway deceased.

Officers determined the victim was walking in the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound. After being struck by this vehicle, the deceased fell to the ground where she was stuck by another vehicle traveling westbound. Both drivers remained on scene and are cooperating with the investigation.

The 5000 block of West 4th Street is a low lit area, and the victim was wearing dark clothing at the time of the collision. Neither alcohol nor speed appears to be a factor in this collision.

This accident is currently being investigated by detectives from the Reno Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team. Anyone with information in regards to this case is urged to contact the Reno Police Department Traffic Division at 334-2141 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
