Pack wraps up successful tour of Italy with 96-41 victory

image001-6069961-8119678ROME, Italy – Trailing the Marino A team 7-6 the University of Nevada men’s basketball team scored 26 unanswered points on the way to an easy 96-41 victory on Tuesday night in Rome.  The Wolf Pack posted a perfect 4-0 record during the 10-day trip to Italy.  The Pack will board a plane on Wednesday morning and return to Reno late in the evening after flying 6,500 miles.

All eight players that saw action scored in tonight’s game and six reached double figures.  Junior Michael Perez and freshman D.J. Fenner tied for team-high honors with 19 points each. Perez topped the Pack with four assists.

Senior Jerry Evans, Jr. posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.  Senior Deonte Burton and sophomore Marqueze Coleman each had 12 points.  Sophomore Cole Huff was the sixth player in double figures with 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Sophomore Lucas Stivrins finished with five points and totaled seven rebounds.  Freshman Patrick Conroy scored three points making the only shot he attempted, a three-pointer to end the third period.

Following the game several fans at the packed gym descended on the court to request autographs and photos with the Nevada players.  One local young lady came to the game wearing a Nevada basketball shirt.
