KNPB NEWS RELEASE — KNPB Channel 5 Public Broadcasting in Reno has hired two staff members providing for increased funding and expansion of KNPB Campus educational efforts. Cheryl Olson will head the educational department and Iris Key joins the development department.
KNPB has named Cheryl Olson as the new KNPB Manager of Educational Services. Olson aims to bring attention to KNPB as a go-to educational resource. As the KNPB Manager of Educational Services she will use her extensive experience in management and executive education programs to build the education component of the organization.
Iris Key brings over two decades of experience in management and grant research and development to her new position as Grant Coordinator. She will use her experience to increase funding for KNPB as it continues to grow its programming service, production of local content as well as educational services.
“Both Cheryl and Iris have exceptional skill sets and experience in the community that will benefit each of their new positions.” Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Programming, Tony Manfredi, said. “KNPB is celebrating its 30 year commitment to the community and with this addition of employees we will continue to expand our media and educational services.”
Olson and Key are both graduates of the University of Nevada, Reno.
KNPB Public Broadcasting is seen by 140,000 people weekly in northern Nevada and northeastern California. KNPB provides 3 digital broadcast television channels on channel 5.1, KNPB Create on channel 5.2 and KNPB Vme on channel 5.3. KNPB channels are also available on cable and satellite services.
