CTHF NEWS RELEASE
Carson Tahoe Health Foundation (CTHF) is searching for talented singing groups to raise their voices and compete for a chance to be the opening act for the hit a cappella group Mo5aic at the 2013 HopeFest.
Mo5aic is a five-man vocal band that combines elements of funk, pop, jazz and R&B to create a musical experience produced entirely by the human voice. Mo5aic won the MTV show “Next Top Pop Group” and the CBS singing competition show “A Cappella Quest.”
The contest is open to all a cappella groups (voices only, no instruments) in the northern Nevada area. To enter, groups will need to record a video singing “Home Means Nevada” a cappella. The winning video will be selected from a panel of HopeFest 2013 judges, but views and shares via social media will help with the chances of winning. The winner will perform at HopeFest 2013 on Friday, Aug. 23, at the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center.

2013 will mark the 3rd annual HopeFest, which features an outdoor benefit concert by the nationally recognized group Mo5aic and local band Road Daddy. Guests will enjoy local hand crafted brews and barbeque, as well as raffle prizes that include a new car or $10,000 cash (donated by Dick Campagni’s dealership for the sixth year in a row). One hundred percent of proceeds from HopeFest go toward supporting local cancer patients in need. Funds are disbursed through the Carson Tahoe Cancer Resource Center, the only area organization supporting area cancer patients, as well as those living in rural communities.
