Eateries include Gourmelt, Burger Me, and Lazy Sundae with beer and wine provided by Great Basin Brewing Co., Silver Peak Brewery, and Fine Wine Catering. Inside the museum guests can build and launch a paper rocket, make a bracelet out of hardware, grab the wheel in a Plasma Car race, build a projectile out of an ordinary wine cork, socialize with friends and fellow Discovery fans, dance to the sounds of a live DJ, and explore the museum’s galleries and exhibits.

“The Discovery truly has something for everyone,” said Mat Sinclair, executive director. “Social Science is a great way for adults who might not normally visit the museum, or people who visit frequently, to see the museum in a whole new light.”

Tickets for Social Science are $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers in advance, and $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at www.nvdm.org or at the museum’s admission desk during museum hours. Ticket price includes admission to museum, a commemorative cup, two drinks and participation all of the evening’s activities. For more information about Social Science and other activities at The Discovery, visit the calendar of events on the museum’s website at www.nvdm.org.

The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum is a locally founded nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. The Discovery’s vision is to inspire curiosity, creativity and the joy of lifelong learning for all children and families of northern Nevada. The museum provides opportunities to discover science, art and local history through open-ended, interactive and fun exhibits and hands-on educational programs. Explore a cave, build a house, race across Nevada, and climb into the clouds—these are just some of the many adventures found at The Discovery.
