Rock and blues legends Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Barry Goldberg to play Grand Sierra Resort in September

Date:

The Rides, an all-star blues and rock band formed by singer-songwriter Stephen Stills, guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd and keyboardist Barry Goldberg will perform Sept. 27 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino. The Reno show is a stop on the band’s inaugural United States tour, supporting its debut album “Can’t Get Enough.” Tickets, $35, are at the GSR box office, 800-648-3568.

Stills, a former member of Buffalo Springfield; Crosby, Stills & Nash; and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, refers to the Rides as “the blues band of my dreams.”  The group formed with Stills and Electric Flag keyboardist Goldberg began writing together at the recommendation of their mutual manager. They soon were joined by Shepherd. The Rides just released a video for its first single, “Don’t Want Lies.” The album is available for pre-orders and is in the Top 5 on Amazon’s blues chart.

GSR is offering a $299 package that includes two tickets and a one-night stay with all taxes and resort fees. Details: 800-648-3568 or www.grandsierraresort.com.
