REMSA MEDIA ADVISORY
Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA)
REMSA has partnered with the University of Nevada, Reno’s Kids University Summer Camp and the High Sierra Area Health Education Center and will conduct a mass casualty incident drill with kids in 6th through 8th grade enrolled in the program. This drill will demonstrate what REMSA paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) do when these types of incidents occur.
The kids are all enrolled in the weeklong “Health Care Heroes” course that caters to those interested in becoming a doctor, nurse, social worker, dentist, dietitian, physical therapist or paramedic. Throughout the week, the kids will explore health careers through innovative experiments, hands-on activities and group projects.
