Fajardo named to Hornung Watch List

image001-8169327-5794193RENO, Nev. – Nevada quarterback Cody Fajardo was named on Friday to the initial watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, which is given annually to the nation’s most versatile player in college football, the Louisville Sports Commission announced.

Fajardo, a junior, is one of 44 players nationally on the watch list. He is one of just four players from the Mountain West on the list and the league’s only quarterback.

A dual threat, Fajardo has accounted for 6,308 yards of total offense so far in two seasons at Nevada. He has rushed for 1,815 yards, including 1,121 yards last year as a sophomore. He’s thrown for 4,493 yards in his career with 2,786 yards through the air in 2012. Fajardo has scored 23 touchdowns in his career – all rushing – and has passed for 26 scores.
