Enjoy dining specials this August at Carson Valley Inn in Minden

MINDEN — Carson Valley Inn has added seasonal additions to the menu at CV Steak, as well as offering meal deals at Katie’s and quick-stop fare in Job’s Perk.

CV Steak, open Tuesday through Sunday, has a special sunset menu available from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. with a choice of five entrées. The $18 deal includes a table-side tossed salad and dessert. CV Steak features a selection of appetizers, a wine list and a range of entrées, including steaks, chops, seafood, chicken and pasta dishes. Reservations are recommended; call 775-783-6650.

Katie’s, CVI’s 24-hour restaurant, has breakfast and lunch deals, including a $4.99 eggs Benedict special from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays in August, the signature $5.99 hamsteak and eggs plate and the $4.99 loaded pancakes special mornings until 11 a.m. Katie’s serves up two house-made soups daily, and offers a $4.99 soup and half sandwich deal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

Katie’s has dinner specials from 2 to 10 p.m. nightly. A $5.99 chicken burrito served enchilada-style is offered Mondays, a $6.99 corned beef and cabbage plate on Tuesdays, a $6.99 meatloaf plate on Wednesdays and a $6.99 roast turkey breast plate on Thursdays. Katie’s offers a $9.99 prime rib dinner Fridays and Saturdays. That special is available in a ¾-pound cut for $12.99 and a 1-pound cut for $15.99. The Chandler — a southern-fried chicken dinner — is available Sundays for $5.99.

Fresh-baked cakes, pies, cupcakes, brownies and cookies are available for purchase near the Katie’s cashier counter. INN Club members receive half-off baked goods on Monday when they use their INN Club points. Points are earned whenever members use their cards while playing slots, table games or live poker.

Job’s Perk, which opens daily at 6 a.m., offers coffee, pastries, sandwiches, salads and smoothies, as well as freshly baked cookies in the afternoon and evening. Bottled wine, champagne and canned beer also are sold, along with newspapers, sundries and items with the CVI logo.

INN Club members can use PointPay to apply earned points to their restaurant checks by swiping their member cards in Katie’s and Job’s Perk, and by presenting the card to the server at CV Steak.

CVI is on U.S. 395 in Minden near the start of Nevada 88, 20 minutes from Lake Tahoe’s South Shore and 45 minutes south of Reno. The property includes a casino, sports and race book, 150-room hotel, 74-room motor lodge, 59-site RV park and a convenience store with Shell gas and diesel fuel. CVI also has banquet and meeting rooms and services plus three dining facilities: CV Steak, Katie’s and Job’s Perk.
