Black Rock Resource Advisory subcommittee to meet on Saturday, July 27

blm_logo-300x261-6325650-2148229Carson City, Nev.–The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Sierra Front-Northwestern-Great Basin Resource Advisory Council, Black Rock National Conservation Area (NCA) sub-committee will meet on Saturday, July 27. The meeting will be held at the BLM State Office, at 1340 Financial Boulevard, Reno, Nev., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Agenda items include:

  • Status and discussion regarding acquisition of private inholdings (E Fork High Rock Wilderness and Smokey Creek parcels);
  • Soldier Meadows – Update and discussion regarding Desert Dace taking and condition of the grazing allotment;
  • Update & discussion on drought monitoring and any actual actions taken with permittees or with wild horses and burros;
  • Friends of Black Rock High Rock presentation regarding NCA projects;
  • Cultural Resources: update & discussion regarding contracts, studies, monitoring,  and specifically any emigrant trail projects;
  • Discussion about the purpose and effectiveness of the subgroup and recruiting new members;
  • Staffing at Black Rock Station, new signs in the NCA, and recreation discussion;
  • Update on the DeLong and Humboldt County litigation on roads and ditches in the Jackson Mountain wilderness;
  • Update & discussion regarding the Hycroft mine facilities expansion, wells, power lines, rail spur, view-shed impacts, etc.;
  • Sage-grouse winter die off and any effects on management in or around the NCA.
  • Update on the Winnemucca Resource Management Plan.
