HomeSlider12RENO RIVER FESTIVAL NEWS RELEASE – Renowned as the kick off to the summer events season in northern Nevada and known as one of the toughest whitewater competitions on the circuit today, the Reno River Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013 – May 11 – 12. This year’s event brings out some of the world’s top paddlers for a weekend filled with exciting whitewater competition, free music, tons of industry vendors and tempting eats, free fishing and camping clinics and a kids play area that includes none other than a zip line across the famed Truckee River.

Below is the complete schedule of events for the 2013 Reno River Festival:

Friday, May 10
12 noon. – 5:00 p.m. On-Site Registration

Saturday, May 11
9:00 a.m. – 10 a.m. Yoga in the Park with 24 Hour Fitness

10:00 a.m. Outdoor Expo, Kids Area, Cabela’s Outdoor Area, On-Site Registration Opens

10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Freestyle Preliminary Rounds

11:00 a.m. – 12 noon Cabela’s Fishing Kayaks Clinic

11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Music in the Park: Buster Blue

12 noon – 1:00 p.m. Cabela’s Inflatable Personal Flotation Devices Clinic

1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Cabela’s River Wading and Fly Tactics Clinic

The Reno River Festival is held at the Truckee River Whitewater Park at Wingfield located in the heart of downtown Reno’s Old Southwest, named one of “Best Neighborhoods in America” by Men’s Journal magazine and recognized by Travel + Leisure as one of “America’s Coolest River Walks.” Hosting top whitewater athletes from around the world, the city’s $1.5-million Whitewater Park is within steps of the downtown Reno gaming and entertainment corridor including a range of dining options, entertainment venues, museums, theaters, hiking and biking trails and a selection of renowned hotel-casinos offering fully customizable weekend getaway packages.
