UPDATED: Stabbing leaves one deceased

RPD NEWS — On Sunday, May 19, 2013, at approximately 0114 hours, Reno Police were summoned to the parking lot in the 5000 block of S. McCarran Blvd., near the Jack in the Box, on the report of a large fight. Upon the officers’ arrival, there were numerous people leaving the scene in several vehicles. Further investigation revealed the fight involved several people and that one subject had been taken to Renown by friends with a stab wound to the chest. The juvenile subject died as a result of his injuries at the hospital. His identity is being withheld at this time until proper notification of next of kin can be confirmed.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone that saw the altercation, or has information regarding it.

The Reno Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s). The deceased subject from the stabbing has been identified: Deceased:  Betancourt, Moises (17), of Reno.

The Reno Police Department would still like to speak with anyone who witnessed the altercation.
