Mother’s Day golf special at Washoe Golf Course

washoe-150x150-3244153-5616729Washoe Golf Course wants to help make Mother’s Day special this year by inviting moms to play a round of golf for free. Moms are invited to come out and play 18 holes free, including the cart, when accompanied by a paying child or adult noon – 6 p.m. on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12.

In addition to a free round of golf, Washoe Golf professionals will be available on the putting green and the driving range to provide tips. Clubs will also be available for use by newcomers to the game.

The Mother’s Day Family Golf Special is the first in a series of Family Day Specials that will be offered every month through September at Washoe Golf Course. In addition, the course offers a number of special events as part of the PGA’s Play Golf America initiative. For details, visit www.washoegolf.org.

Washoe Golf Course is Reno’s oldest golf course. The “Shoe” is a par 72, 18-hole course offering a challenging round of golf with spectacular views of Reno and the Sierra. Golfers may reserve tee times in advance by calling (775) 828-6640.  Facilities include a driving range, PGA professionals, pro shop, full service restaurant and a BBQ area. The restaurant was recently remodeled and re-opened as “The Shoe Bar and Grill.”  Washoe Golf Course is operated by Bell-Men Golf and managed by the Washoe County Community Services Department.
