Image provided by GSR.Lois M. of Paso Robles, Calif., got Cinco de Mayo weekend started in a big way last night at the Grand Sierra Resort when she hit a $159,764.05 jackpot on Let It Ride. Lois, here with her niece for an American Rabbit Breeders Association show, has been a frequent guest at GSR since 2006.

“We are absolutely ecstatic to welcome Lois as the newest jackpot winner at the Grand Sierra,” said Bonnie Picker, vice president of marketing at GSR. “We have an action-packed Cinco de Mayo weekend of entertainment, activities and specials, and we couldn’t ask for a better way to kick off the festivities.”

Lois M., who works in property management, hit the jackpot just after 9:30 p.m. She’s not yet sure how she will spend her nearly $160,000 in winnings. This exciting win happened in the midst of GSR’s year-long Grand Millionaire Giveaway which will culminate on Sept. 28 with a $1 million* drawing from winners selected throughout the year.

This weekend, GSR hosts northern Nevada’s largest Latino heritage celebration, which boasts two full days of live entertainment for all ages. On Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5, more than 100 vendors will offer specialty items, clothes, art, crafts and food in the GSR southeast parking lot.

To truly get the celebration moving, popular Latin music, dancers, Mexican dancing horses, a roller derby, amateur boxing and a Ms. Cinco de Mayo talent show will all be part of the cultural festival.
