Coeur Rochester presents Sandoval with silver bar for state’s sesquicentennial celebration

WHAT: On Wednesday, Nevada mining company Coeur Rochester presented Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval with a 1,000 oz. silver bar to be used in the state’s year-long celebration of its 150th anniversary. The short ceremony continued the state’s planning and fundraising effort for its sesquicentennial events, which start later this year. The silver will be turned into 1,000 commemorative Sesquicentennial coins, which will be unveiled in conjunction with the kickoff of the celebratory events.

WHO: Governor Brian Sandoval and Lt. Governor Brian Krolicki were joined by Luke Russell, senior vice-president of environment and community for Coeur Rochester, and other dignitaries.
