Washoe County is asking residents for their opinions to help shape the next Tahoe Area Plan by providing comments online at Open Washoe. The comments are essential to shape how Incline Village and Crystal Bay should plan for the next 20 years.
The County is asking citizens for their input on what the community’s priorities are to support the development of an update to the current Tahoe Area Plan Master Plan. The recent adoption of the Tahoe Regional Plan by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency clears the way for Washoe County to update its own master plan for the portion of the basin under its jurisdiction.
“Participating in an update of an area plan is a unique opportunity to help define how our communities look, feel, grow and develop,” said Washoe County Commissioner Marsha Berkbigler, District 1. “So we need our citizens’ input to help create and implement an updated Tahoe Area Plan that’s in the best interests of our residents.”
The open forum is accessible through the Washoe County website at www.washoecounty.us/openwashoe and also by texting the word ‘subscribe’ to (775) 835-4540 for the free service. Individuals can make comments, suggestions and read what other community members are saying about a particular issue.
