CITY OF RENO NEWS RELEASE

reno-logo-3400899-7682748The city of Reno is making much needed and required improvements to the deteriorating and aging sidewalks within the Plumas neighborhood.

The sidewalk improvement project, with a community investment of $300,000, supports the city council’s priority of providing safe and livable neighborhoods by providing pedestrian paths and improved routes to transportation and services for residents in the neighborhood. The project, consisting of removing and replacing deteriorated sidewalks, is expected to be completed by mid May.

Currently, Plumas Street will be restricted to one lane with flaggers during the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. as sidewalk construction work continues along the east side of Plumas from Mt. Rose Street to Marsh Avenue. As construction continues please make sure to visit Reno.gov, which provides a complete list of street closures and lane restrictions expected within the city of Reno.

During construction, drivers are encouraged to use extra caution and allow for extra travel time. Please remember access to businesses will be maintained during work hours.
