smhp_dignity_4cp-300x121-8932452-8713901Saint Mary’s Health Plans (SMHP) has named Beverly Coleman as customer service manager. Coleman’s primary focus will be to manage the Member Services call center and Telehealth personnel to ensure SMHP members receive the help and information they need to effectively use and navigate their health benefits.

“It is vital that our relationships with our members remain strong and that we continue to serve them with unparalleled support,” said Don Kowitz, SMHP president and CEO. “It’s an area of our business in which we must continually raise the bar. Beverly’s years of management experience make her an ideal fit for this position to help increase the effectiveness of the one-to-one interactions we have with our members.”

With a strong background managing various internal operations in her previous positions, Coleman will be able to guide SMHP’s customer service team to answer any questions and provide exceptional service. For more than four years, she provided supervisory oversight for customer service staff at Merx Medical Diagnostics in Reno, Nev. and, for 13 years prior, Coleman managed five call centers for AT&T Communications throughout northern Nevada and northern California.

“Developing relationships with our members and ensuring they are receiving the best care possible is so important to us,” Coleman said. “By answering their questions, providing them with accurate information and helping them make the best decisions about their health care, we can make the insurance process that much easier and feel confident that our members are receiving the care that best fits their needs.”

Prior to joining Saint Mary’s Health Plans, Coleman worked for Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center for 19 years, most recently as manager of benefits, volunteers and employee recognition.
