reno-logo-4143784-2729010Next week, April 14 through April 20, is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. It’s a time to thank our public safety men and women who answer emergency calls and dispatch emergency personnel and equipment.

The Regional Emergency Communications Center is the largest public safety communications center in Northern Nevada and the primary link to public safety services in Reno and unincorporated Washoe County, handling calls ranging from structure and wildland fires, to burglaries in progress, medical calls, domestic disputes, missing juveniles and others.

The Regional Emergency Communications Center provides emergency and non-emergency communications services for the Reno Police Department, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office, Reno Fire Department, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District, Reno Sparks Indian Colony Police, Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Police, University of Nevada Reno Police Department, Truckee Meadows Community College Police Department, City of Reno Marshals and Washoe County Alternative Sentencing.
