sandovallogo-300x91-7093849-3586881CARSON CITY – First Lady Kathleen Sandoval yesterday held a statewide children’s mental health summit at the Governor’s Mansion in Carson City.

“Bringing stakeholders together to share information and learn together is important to helping develop healthy communities,” Sandoval said. “I was thrilled to join with mental health consortiums from across the state to learn about the services available and discuss how we can continue to help our communities.”

The first lady, along with the Clark County, Washoe County and Rural Mental Health Consortiums, convened the summit on children’s mental health to offer participants the opportunity to learn about the positive developments in children’s mental health in Nevada from partners and programs across the state of Nevada.

Entitled “Positive Developments in Children’s Mental Health in Nevada,” the summit provided guidance and information from professionals specializing in initiatives and interventions for children from birth to age 5, school age and adolescents and young adults ages 16-23 years.

Mental and behavioral health strategies, programs, therapies and intervention activities were also highlighted.
