VIRGINIA CITY NEWS
VIRGINIA CITY — It’s a new year, a revamped event and Virginia City, Nev. presents a full-on Irish testicle festival at the 22nd Annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival, taking place along C St., the historic town’s main drive, March 16, 2013.
The truth is Virginia City goes nuts each St. Patrick’s Day. More than 3,000 people head to one of the greatest historical towns in the nation for a taste of this “delicacy,” a rocky mountain oyster also known as “fries.” A beer garden, authentic live Irish music, individual and team “ball-eating” contests, St. Patty’s Day costume contest and a new Leprechaun Bar Crawl presented by Coors Light round out the new event offerings.
