On Monday, Reno Police Chief Steve Pitts will be presenting Certificates of Commendation to two residents, Ms. Helen Gonzalez and Ms. Luzelena Diaz, for their heroic actions.
Gonzalez will be recognized for her assistance on Dec. 7 in helping talk a suicidal subject out of jumping off a casino parking garage. Diaz will be recognized for her assistance on Feb. 1 during a call of an armed subject inside a restaurant.
