UNR NEWS — The Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno is proud to announce the 49th annual Scripps Dinner and Lecture keynote speaker, Mandalit del Barco. During her visit to Reno, del Barco will spend time engaging with students and faculty of the Reynolds School and members of the Latino Research Center on Wednesday. Media are welcome to attend.
As a general assignment correspondent based in Los Angeles, Calif., del Barco has reported and produced radio stories and photographed everything from street gangs to Hollywood, police and prisons, marijuana, immigration, race relations, natural disasters, Latino arts and urban street culture. Additionally, every year she covers the Oscars and Grammy awards for National Public Radio, (NPR).
