Date:

MORE logo 2013MEDICAL OUTREACH RESPONSE EVENT NEWS RELEASE SILVER SPRINGS – A free health care event called the Medical Outreach Response Event (MORE) will be offered to Lyon, Storey and Mineral County residents on Saturday, March 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sunday, March 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This is a first come, first served event for any under-insured Lyon, Storey, or Mineral County resident. People of all ages are welcome! This free event for Lyon, Storey and Mineral County residents will be held at the Silver Stage High School in Silver Springs, which is located at 3755 West Spruce Street.

Many free health care services will be available to Lyon, Mineral and Storey County residents, including medical, dental, mental health, and vision services. Experts will also help you find affordable medical insurance. Free services such as dental sealants and dental exams, glucose tests, vaccinations for uninsured adults and children, chiropractic adjustments, general health check- ups, HIV tests, and more will be available.

If possible, attendees are asked to please bring identification, a bill to show proof of residency, proof of income, and a tax return. If your children need dental services and they have Medicaid, please bring your Medicaid card. You can still be served without these documents, but follow up care will be slowed.

For more information about the event, please call Healthy Communities Coalition’s Freida Carbery, 775-220-2749, or Coalition Director Christy McGill, 775-246-7550.

MORE was initiated by Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey Counties, a nonprofit which includes over 100 local, state, federal and tribal agency group partners and hundreds of community volunteers. MORE is made possible by the generous commitment of staff from dozens of Nevada health care, social service, nonprofit, and emergency preparedness agencies, as well as the work of hundreds of community volunteers and strong support from the Lyon County School District.
