NORTHERN NEVADA INTERNATIONAL CENTER NEWS RELEASE – The Northern Nevada International Center (NNIC) is pleased to announce its second annual Corporate Global Citizen of the Year Award. The award will be presented at the NNIC’s 14th Annual Global Gala at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino on Friday, March 29. With this award, NNIC will recognize one of seven nominated organizations for their vision as global citizens and how this vision impacts our community and our economy in Northern Nevada. This year’s gala theme is Why Reno? and the following local companies have been nominated for the Corporate Global Citizen Award: Kimmie Candy Co.; NIREC (Nevada Institute for Renewable Energy Commercialization); ElectraTherm, Inc.; NOW Foods; National Judicial College; Dermody Properties; and, McClelland Laboratories, Inc.
Local organizations and community members have also donated fun and unique live and silent auction items for the Global Gala. This year’s auctions items include exclusive autographed 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick gear, a mine tour trip for 12 people to two mines in Elko, Nevada, a six day/six night South Africa photographic safari package in the Zulu Nyala Game Reserve, a brewmaster for a day package at Great Basin Brewery, and a joint lunch with the Mayors of Reno and Sparks.
A delegation of eight International Visitors from Saudi Arabia participating in the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) will also be honored highlighting the importance of the IVLP program and their individual professional global contributions.
Live speakers and an exciting video testimony will be presented highlighting the unique local resources, organizations and international impact Northern Nevada and the Reno area make on the world.
