Bully’s collaborates with American Red Cross to kick off “Fire Hurts…Red Cross Helps”

Date:

BULLY’S NEWS RELEASE – In celebration of Red Cross Month in March, Bully’s is helping the American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter kick off the “Fire Hurts…Red Cross Helps” fire season awareness campaign. Using the NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournament as a catalyst to drive awareness, all seven Bully’s locations in Reno, Sparks and Carson City host “Boot Sales” to help raise funds for the Red Cross to continue assisting disaster-stricken Nevadans.

In 2012, approximately 860,000 acres were lost to fire in Nevada, costing an estimated $1.96 billion. In response, the skilled and selfless volunteers of the Northern Nevada Chapter of the Red Cross delivered aid such as food, shelter and clothing to Nevadans in need.  From March 21 through April 5, Bully’s guests can purchase a boot for $1 with all proceeds benefiting the American Red Cross Northern Nevada Chapter. By hosting the fundraising campaign during the spirited March Madness tournament, Bully’s makes it easy for community members to give back.

As the college basketball season comes to a close, Bully’s and the Red Cross officially kick off the “Fire Hurts…Red Cross Helps” campaign Friday, April 5 with launch parties at Bully’s #3 at Pyramid and McCarran in Sparks, Bully’s #4 in Carson City and Bully’s #7 on Robb Drive in Reno. Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. with firemen accepting donations to “fill the boot” to help meet the goal of collecting $250,000 to fund the emergency assistance fund for Nevada families.
