Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation’s “Poodle This!” charity event goes to the dogs

Date:

RENO-TAHOE OPEN FOUNDATION NEWS RELEASE – The Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation is proud to announce the return of one of its more popular events on April 4 at the Eldorado. “Poodle This!” is a new take on the Foundation’s “Noodle This!” dinner featuring a wait staff comprised of northern Nevada’s most well-known faces competing to raise tips benefitting the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation and the Nevada Humane Society. The event allows its guests to select a waiter or waitress from a group of local celebrities who have historically included Mayor Bob Cashell, University of Nevada men’s basketball coach David Carter, Shelby Sheehan of My News 4 and others, on a first come, first served basis. Tables of eight are available now for $1,500 by calling 775-322-3900.

“This fundraiser is a fun way to continue the tournament’s mission of bringing the community together and giving back at the same time,” said Jana Smoley, the Reno-Tahoe Open’s executive director. “After reaching great milestones with our charitable work in 2012, we are very excited to celebrate fifteen years of giving back and being able to extend our reach to the Nevada Humane Society, a group that helps thousands of animals in our community each year.”

Forty tables are available for “Poodle This!” and are on sale now for $1,500. The evening begins with cocktails and silent auction at 6 p.m. and dinner is served at 7 p.m. Participating organizations are listed on the official Reno-Tahoe Open website, www.RenoTahoeOpen.com, and in the tournament program for the 15th annual Reno-Tahoe Open, July 29 – August 4. For more information on the 15th annual Reno-Tahoe Open at Montrêux, including ticket sales, vacation packages, volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, visit www.RenoTahoeOpen.com or contact the tournament office at 775-322-3900.

The 15th annual Reno-Tahoe Open at Montrêux, an official PGA TOUR event, takes place July 29 through August 4, 2013 at Montrêux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nevada. The tournament is one of just 45 full-field stops during the PGA TOUR Regular Season and is part of the FedExCup series, a points competition for PGA TOUR professionals. The internationally-televised event brings in millions of dollars in coverage for the Reno-Tahoe region through its affiliation with The Golf Channel as it follows 132 PGA TOUR professionals competing for a share of the tournament’s $3 million purse. The Reno-Tahoe Open is managed and operated by the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, comprised of key sponsors including the Eldorado Hotel Reno, Montrêux Development Group and NV Energy.
