Find tax help at Washoe County libraries

washoe-150x150-2318796-5468754It’s that time of year again – tax season! AARP and VITA/TCE volunteer preparers are partnering with the Washoe County Library System to offer free tax help at the following Washoe County libraries:

  • IRS Certified AARP Volunteer Preparers:   This program is designed to assist low to moderate income taxpayers of any age with special attention to those 60 years of age and older:
    • Downtown Reno Library: Mondays and Thursdays, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Feb. 4- April 11. First come first served.
    • Northwest Reno Library: Thursdays, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Feb. 7-April 11.  Walk-ins only.
    • Spanish Springs Library: Thursdays, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., Feb. 7-April 11. Appointments accepted, call 424-1800.
  • IRS Certified VITA/TCE Volunteer Preparers: Earn It Keep It Save It–A United Way Collaborative.  This program is designed to assist low to moderate income taxpayers of any age:
    • North Valleys Library: Thursdays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturdays, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Jan. 31-April 13.  Appointments required; in person or call 972-0281.
    • Sierra View Library: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Jan. 29-April 11. Appointments made in person.
    • South Valleys Library: Wednesdays, 4-6 p.m., Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Jan. 30-April 13.  Appointments recommended: in person or call 851-5190.
    • Sparks Library: Saturdays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Jan. 26-April 13.  Appointments made in person or call 352-3200.
