The five acre Lyon Fire, which started Nov. 8, destroyed the trailer and the well house of Louisa Nelson on Clark Drive in the Washoe Valley area.

This week, the Truckee Meadows Firefighters Association (TMFA), in conjunction with several other groups including Q & D Construction and the Northern Nevada Masonry, came together to help provide the plans, materials and labor to rebuild the Nelson’s well house.

“The firefighters involved in fighting the Lyon Fire wanted to continue to help people who were impacted by this fire, “said Ryan Rizzuto, president of the TMFA. “They took it upon themselves to coordinate with Q&D Construction and Northern Nevada Masonry to jointly reconstruct the well house for the resident, who otherwise couldn’t afford to rebuild. This is a great example of the firefighters and the community coming together again to help those in need who have been impacted by recent fires.”
