EDAWN NEWS RELEASE

As part of the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada’s (EDAWN) new program to encourage entrepreneurial growth and subsequent job creation in Greater Reno-Sparks-Tahoe, Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval recently called several entrepreneurs in the region to recognize them and show appreciation for their efforts to expand in the local community.

For the first round of Governor phone calls, EDAWN identified five local entrepreneurs: Steve Conine, owner of AccuStaff in Reno, Nev. and president of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Reno/ Tahoe Chapter, Colin Loretz, Founder of Cloudsnap and the Reno Collective; Mark Hatjakes, Founder of SoSu.tv Media production company; Seth Sheck, CEO of Access Pass & Design; and Peter Gunnerman, CEO of Advanced Refining Concepts and Creator of Gdesiel, a clean diesel fuel refined locally.

“Of my conversation with Governor Sandoval today…what an honor,” said Conine, owner of AccuStaff. “I told him how special it was as a small business owner to get such a call. To hear first hand that I was making a difference in our community and that he was aware of the efforts of actual working entrepreneurs was really impressive. It was incredibly motivating to me personally. ”

“The jobs of the future are being created right now by local entrepreneurs and it is exciting to hear that energy and opportunities are increasing for Nevada businesses,” Governor Brian Sandoval said. “Nevada has always been an entrepreneurial state and I am committed to working with Nevada’s Regional Development Authorities and the many partners who support entrepreneurs to further the growth and success of Nevada’s entrepreneurial community. I look forward to more calls in the future.”

In 2012 EDAWN hired Doug Erwin, 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year award winner for the State of Nevada and cofounder of Tahoe SUP, to spearhead the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
