Sparks Justice Court moves to new facility

washoe-150x150-8439548-6815506What: After more than 20 years in what was meant to be a temporary courthouse on Greenbrae Drive, the Sparks Justice Court will be moving into a new facility on Prater Way in Sparks at the end of the month.

When: Sparks Justice Court closed at noon Friday and will be closed to the public until Monday, Jan. 7 at 8 a.m.

Details: During the week of Dec. 31, certain emergency matters will be handled at the Reno Justice Court. Applications for protective orders and clearance of warrants can be made at the Reno Justice Court, 1 So. Sierra Street, Reno. No warrants for failing to comply or appear will be issued the week the Court is closed. Payments can be mailed to the old address, 630 Greenbrae Dr., Sparks, Nev. 89431, but drop box payments must be taken over to the new location.

During the relocation, the Court’s phone system will be out of service for at least a few days in order to move and install all of the equipment. Computers will also be out of service until the file servers are moved.

All phone, fax numbers and email addresses will remain the same. Residents may call the court’s main telephone number during the closure, (775) 353-7600, for further information on how to handle emergency matters. Other than those emergencies, regular court business will not be conducted during the week of the move.
