Instagram changed their privacy policy this week, and not for the better. The new Terms of Service left a lot of people feeling uneasy, so many in fact, that Instagram has already revised their stance on the issue.

However, there are still a lot of people looking to jump ship. And, with the recent release of Flickr’s new iPhone app, a lot of people have been looking to Flickr as a solution.

If you’re one of those people, you can use Freethephotos. It will easily transfer all your Instagram photos to Flickr, in just a few clicks. The free service has already liberated over 250,000 photos.

It’s a simple, painless process. You simply connect your Instagram and Flickr accounts, decide if you’d like an email alert once the transfer is done, and click “Free Your Photos.” The entire process takes less than a minute.

For Instagram users with large amounts of photos, the transfer time can sometimes take up to 15 minutes, especially if there is a high volume of users.

For organizational purposes, all your Instagram photos will be imported into a new “Set” on Flickr that’s titled “Instagram.” After the transfer is complete, you can change the set name by logging into your Flickr account.

It’s important to note that the free Flickr plan has some limitations. Here are the big ones: You can only see your last 200 photos and your account has a 300mb upload limit per month. So, if you were a heavy Instagram user, you may want to consider buying a pro account or you will only be limited around transferring 10,000 photos.

The service was built because the team at Cloudsnap loves data and APIs. They believe that your data is yours, no matter where it lives. If you want to use Instagram, that’s great, but if you want to switch to Flickr, you should be able to – quickly and easily.
