WASHOE COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

washoe-150x150-7449458-2981519The Washoe County Senior Services Department will present a free special event today for seniors and their families who need help enrolling in Medicare.

Washoe County residents will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn about Medicare Open Enrollment and Part D plan options
  • Get tips on how to detect, prevent and report Medicare fraud and abuse
  • Learn about other programs and services that may be beneficial

“Between now and Dec. 7, people who have Medicare can change their health plan and Medicare Part D provider,” said Senior Services Director Grady Tarbutton. “This can be confusing, because health plans are allowed to change their coverage by Medicare.”

Participants will receive advice and counsel from experts trained on Medicare choices. These experts will answer questions, review individual options and assist seniors in changing their medical coverage.

WHEN: Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
WHERE: Washoe County Senior Services, 1155 E. Ninth St. (9th and Sutro), Reno

Pre-registration is requested to ensure all consumers are accommodated. To pre-register for the event, please call (775) 328-2575.
