The entries are in and now it’s time to vote. Through Wednesday, Oct. 31, northern Nevada residents are being asked to vote for the top class project submissions on Dolan Automotive Group’s Facebook page, www.Facebook.com/DolanAutomotiveGroup. The top 20 vote-earners as of the Oct. 31 deadline then each receive $2,500 to bring the submissions to life as part of Dolan’s $50,000 Class Project. There are 62 entries from Carson, Churchill, Douglas, Lyon, Storey and Washoe counties in this year’s contest and more than 1,900 votes have been cast since voting began at noon on Monday.

Currently, Reno High School is in the lead with its proposal to purchase a new sound system for the band, which has been without sound since last year’s drum line competition. Other class project submissions include funding for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) projects, new physical education equipment, assistance with literacy education for non-English speaking students, and helping young students with writing skills by allowing them to write and publish a book of their own. Fans may vote one time per day and are encouraged to do so on a daily basis.
