Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District has closed open burning for the season

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District (TMFPD) closed open burning for the season as of Monday, October 29, 2012. With the possibility of expected high winds in the area, TMFPD will be closing open burning for the season. Open burning within the District after Monday, October 29, 2012, will be subject to fines for burning outside of the permitted season.

If burning is allowed in the spring, residents who live in the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District will be required to obtain a new burn permit for the spring season.
