Storyteller Indiana Bones to visit The Discovery

logo2-300x55-6588579-6108962On Saturday, October 13th, 2012 storyteller Indiana Bones will visit the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery).Using fact, fiction and humor,Indiana Bones weaves the stories of ancient civilizations and cultures with a sense of adventure! There are two shows: 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm. Admission toIndiana Bonesis free with museum admission.

“Storytelling is a key element in discovery learning,” said Sarah Gobbs-Hill, programming manager. “When a story is actively told, comprehension and further involvement in the story increase dramatically.”

Indiana Bones’ stories blend ancient histories, mythologies and legends while incorporating curriculum components such as: language arts; communications skills; social studies; environmental sciences; history; geography; archaeology; astronomy; paleontology; and anthropology!

Emmy award winner, Mike McCartney, is storytellerIndiana Bones. Since 1993, he has performed across the nation at libraries, museums and schools. He has traveled the world collecting his stories.
