Nevada Men’s Golf Team to Play in the Pacific Invitational

image001-3598557-7135451The University of Nevada men’s golf team will head to Stockton, Calif. to play in the Pacific Invitational hosted by University of the Pacific.

Nevada will be one of the 12 teams playing in a 54-hole tournament to be played on the par 72, 6,777 yard Brookside Country Club. The team will play 18 holes on Monday Oct. 29, 18 holes on Tuesday, and the final 18 on Oct. 31. The four low individual scores will determine the team’s scores for each round.

Nevada will play against Brigham Young University, Cal State Northridge, The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, University of Denver, Kansas State, University of the Pacific, Sacramento State, University of Santa Clara, UC Davis, and Mountain West Conference members Colorado State, and Fresno State.

Juniors Ryan Mulvany, and Brian Knoll will be the upperclassman in the group of five players traveling to the tournament. Sophomores Gustavo Chuang, Taylor Knoll, and Zak Griffiths will be other members of the squad.

The Wolf Pack has had success in this tournament. Last year the Pack lost in a playoff hole for the team championship to Oregon State. Former Nevada golfer Kevin Lucas also won the individual championship.
