The University of Nevada cross country team won its final home meet Friday morning in the Nevada Chase Rally at Rancho San Rafael Park.
Nevada won the dual meet against Sacramento State with a score of 23 to 32. The Wolf Pack had three of the top-five finishers in the event, as junior Samantha Diaz was first at 22:53, sophomore Demerey Kirsch took second at 23:12, and Emily Myers took fourth at 23:30.
“We were really looking to get a good hard workout in at a fun format today and we got that done,” head coach Kirk Elias said. “The event today helps up prepare for the faster races we will encounter later this season.”
The team returns to action next weekend at the Chile Pepper Invitational that will take place in Fayetteville Ark.
