Local culinary expert to teach classes at The Discovery

Beginning Wednesday, October 10th, 2012 The Discovery will offer a three part cooking series designed for families. The series will focus on healthy meals using ideas such as meal planning, doubling and ways to inspire children to get involved in the kitchen. The series, offered on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, is free with museum admission. Children and their parents are encouraged to attend together.

The three part series includes:

October 10th – Make Lunch, Take Lunch
Join Dish Café’s Nancy Horn for this informative family class focused on the importance of menu planning in creating easy-to-prepare family meals. In this class Nancy will demonstrate a number of healthy lunch-making options. There’ll be samples to taste, too!

October 17th – Amazing Plan, Amazing Meals
Join Dish Café’s Nancy Horn for this informative family class focused on the importance of menu planning in creating easy-to-prepare family meals. In this class Nancy will demonstrate a number of ways to get children involved in shopping, meal planning and preparation. There’ll be samples to taste, too!

October 24th – Get Comfy Cozy

In this class Nancy will demonstrate a number of ways to get children involved in shopping, meal planning and preparation. There’ll be samples to taste, too!

“Principles such as meal planning and doubling are a great way to ease the stress of meal preparation for families,” said Nancy Horn, co-owner of DISH Café. “Healthy eating habits are key for growing children adults, and these classes will help form those habits.”
