The Summit Welcomes Darryl Whitehead as General Manager

Date:

Darryl Whitehead has been hired as the general manager for The Summit, Reno’s 600 thousand-square-foot outdoor lifestyle shopping center, owned and operated by Bayer Properties.  Whitehead will replace former general manager Larry Hunt who retired in early June after seven years as regional property manager.

Whitehead began his career in radio marketing, holding positions at WHN/WAPP and the MJI Radio Network in New York where he was involved in the Statue of Liberty Birthday Celebration and the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame induction awards.  He then moved to corporate marketing for Turner Network Television and HBO.

He joins The Summit from Cleveland, Ohio where he most recently was the director of marketing for Stark Enterprises and the general manager and director of marketing at Crocker Park, a 1.7 million square-foot mixed use lifestyle center located in Westlake, Ohio.  Throughout his tenure at Crocker Park, Whitehead was responsible for directing and coordinating property management operations, marketing and strategic plans.

His contributions to Crocker Park span from the development of the property project as a whole to bringing a wealth of notoriety to the center for community engagement and downtown involvement. Through Whitehead’s efforts, Crocker Park became the center focus of Westlake for all holiday and community events.
