School of Medicine offers free medical clinics for September

The University of Nevada School of Medicine’s free Student Outreach Clinics for September have been announced for the following dates: a well women’s clinic will be held Sept. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m., a children’s clinic will be on Sept. 22 from 8 a.m. to noon and a general clinic will take place on Sept. 29 from 8 a.m. to noon.

Student Outreach Clinics are a free service providing much needed care for Washoe County’s medically uninsured population. Clinics offer physicals for work or school, EKGs, blood pressure monitoring, referrals and selected lab services at discounted fees.

Under the direct supervision of licensed faculty and community physicians, medical students from the University of Nevada School of Medicine offer monthly Student Outreach Clinics which provide free care to the medically uninsured. No appointment is necessary for clinic patients who are seen on a first come, first served basis. Early arrival is recommended. Spanish translators are available as needed.

Clinics are held at the School of Medicine’s Family Medicine Center, located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus just north of Mackay Stadium off of North Virginia Street. Take RTC bus route 7 to North Virginia Street or the free Sierra Spirit bus.
