Cross Country Places Sixth at Dellinger Invitational

image001-2194589-3717916The University of Nevada cross country team placed sixth at the Dellinger Invitational Saturday morning at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Ore.

No. 3 Oregon took first place with 18 points, followed by Southern Utah (73 points), Gonzaga (87 points), UC Riverside (98 points), Idaho (125 points), Nevada (135 points) and Seattle (203 points). Nevada junior Samantha Diaz led the team in the 5,000-meter race, finishing in 15th place with a time of 17:19.

The team will return home to host its third and final home meet next Saturday at the Nevada Chase Rally. The meet will take place at the Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno, Nev., and will begin at 9 a.m.
