City adds new government affairs coordinator

As the City of Reno prepares for the 2013 Nevada State Legislative Session, it has enhanced its legislative affairs team with the addition of Megan Salcido as Government Affairs Coordinator. Salcido will coordinate the activities and operations of the City’s Government Affairs Program. The program includes both state and local legislative and policy-related intergovernmental activities. Salcido will join Assistant City Manager and principal lobbyist Cadence Matijevich, and other members of the team, in representing the City of Reno at the Nevada Legislature. Salcido will also provide staff assistance on special projects.

Salcido grew up in Reno and attended the University of Nevada, Reno, where she received her Bachelor of Science in International Business. She completed her law degree at the William S. Boyd School of Law, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has been admitted to both the State Bar of Nevada and Arizona.

Salcido has legal experience in both the private and public sector.

During the 2009 Legislative Session, she was a Legislative Extern working with Snell and Wilmer Law Offices in the firm’s role representing the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. She was a Law Clerk for the Honorable James Hardesty and a Judicial Extern for Governor Brian Sandoval when he was a United States District Court Judge. Salcido has been working as
