Just one year ago, Dolan Automotive Group propelled itself into the social media stratosphere with the inaugural FanFest Car Giveaway. Gaining nearly 4,000 “likes” and more than 9,200 contest entries over the course of the one-month-long contest, the automotive group has since earned more than 25,000 “likes” and given away nearly $100,000 to local schools and charities on its page. As the one-year anniversary of its social media campaign approaches, Dolan Automotive is preparing to award another brand new automobile to a Facebook fan Monday, Aug. 27. Dolan FanFest 2012 has received more than 35,000 contest entries so far and fans have until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26 to enter for a chance to win a 2013 Kia Optima, Lexus CT, Mazda CX 5, Scion FR-S or Toyota Tacoma. Ryan Dolan, CEO of Dolan Automotive Group, will call the winner at noon on Monday, Aug. 27.
“We’ve had tremendous success with our Facebook page over the past year,” Dolan said. “Whether it’s been one of our education projects or just a small giveaway, the community and our fans have been incredibly positive and engaged in our efforts. FanFest is a fun way to say thank you for all of the support. Plus, we have more education projects lined up for the fall so we want to get everyone’s attention.”
Over the past year Dolan Automotive Group has primarily leveraged its Facebook page for charitable outreach efforts. In August 2012, Dolan Automotive Group sponsored the $50,000 Class Project Giveaway. With more than 100 class projects submitted and more than 27,000 votes cast, the automotive group awarded 20 northern Nevada classrooms $2,500 each for projects ranging from technology upgrades to field trips and music programs.
In March, it continued efforts to help northern Nevada schools through the $30,000 School Project. The project received 25 project submissions from principals throughout the region and more than 23,000 votes were cast to award $10,000 each to one northern Nevada elementary, one middle, and one high school.
The entry period for Dolan FanFest Free Car Giveaway 2012 comes to an end Sunday, Aug. 26 at 11:59 p.m. The winner is chosen at noon, Monday, Aug. 27 and is notified by telephone. More information on Dolan FanFest and to enter the giveaway, visit Dolan Automotive Group’s Facebook Page.
