RENOWN HEALTH NEWS RELEASE

Purple attire seemed to be the top choice yesterday for many community residents. It may be because Renown Health encourages its nearly 5,000 employees to wear the branded color to show their pride.

As part of one of the “Pride Day” celebrations for August, Renown Communications Systems employees visited Cold Springs Middle School in The White Knight, Renown’s classic 1949 ambulance. The employees donated pencil holders, growth charts and chapsticks to the middle school children. They also interacted with Shampayne Walker’s class, allowing the children to explore the ambulance.

“We always see so much community support for Renown,” said Jo-Anne White, Renown communications systems operator. “This project allows us to give back and show our appreciation.”

Renown Pride Day events occur in various departments and link to Renown Health’s purpose statement to “Make a genuine difference for the many lives we touch by optimizing our patients’ healthcare experience.” The events are designed and organized by the employees who find ways to highlight the services Renown offers to the community. Each event can be nominated for the Pride Day Awards – Best Connection to Purpose; Best Use of Purple; and Most Creative. Votes for the awards come from Renown employees.
